Acclaimed Belgian artist set to present debut Museum Solo exhibition
May 9, 2016

In April, we announced that acclaimed Belgian painter Johan Van Mullem was joining Unit London. An artist that we have long admired, Johan's works hold incredible atmosphere and his palate evokes thoughts of Goya,  Rembrandt, or Auerbach. Despite their old master atmosphere, the fluid, abstract compositions are refreshingly contemporary and strikingly original.

In 2014, following a studio visit from a Museum Director, one of Johan's works was acquired by the Musee d'Ixelles for it's permanent collection. Two years later, Johan is preparing for his first ever Solo exhibition at one of the most prestigious and admired Museums in his country. The self-titled exhibition will feature brand new works documenting the artist's increasingly explorative use of fluid lines in portraiture and landscape paintings.
