Looking For U: Private View

Our Summer Group Show...

Last Wednesday marked a nostalgic moment for Unit London - the opening of our summer group show: Looking For U.

The title of our summer group show Looking For U is shared with our very first exhibition, held in October 2013 in a pop-up gallery space in Chiswick. #lookingforU went on to become a weekly staple of our Instagram account – highlighting and profiling exciting global talent in the art world to our loyal and expansive digital audience.

A warm summer's evening at Unit London Mayfair.

Today, digital software, social media, and virtual reality have all had a hand in shaping the concept of contemporaneity in its purest form. Looking For U explores the new and exciting potential for artistic expression posed by our internet-orientated world. It is an exhibition that celebrates how recent technology has impacted artist’s methods and aesthetics, through the works of eight international artists - André Hemer, Joshua Hagler, Konrad Wyrebek, Marc Gumpinger, Michael Staniak, Philip Colbert, Ry David Bradley and Tom Price.

The private view took place on Wednesday 25 July, attended by over 500 guests who queued around the corner of Hanover Square to marvel at the dynamic paintings and sculptures. The event was unforgettable, lively, and buzzing with conversation, and guests admired works by talented artists whilst sipping on tropical Mount Gay Rum cocktails that complemented the vibrant summer atmosphere.

Looking For U is open from 26 July to 26 August at Unit London, 3 Hanover Square London W1S 1HD. Event photography by Enrico Policardo (@cardopoli).
